Forgotten History: Betty White

I think that most people focus on Betty White’s history as a tv star and forget that she was first, and foremost, a revered gunslinger during the westward expansion of the nineteenth century. That’s how she ended up in St. Olaf, Minnesota. What she conveniently leaves out in her biopic, The Golden Girls, is that she settled that part of Minnesota after fighting off the Indians and the Canadians and making it her bandit hide out. Long before the west was tamed she would drive stage coaches into the gully and rob them blind.
