Oh, the Time and Places You Will Go

I saw this at college humor and couldn’t pass up the chance to write a parody poem with this as the inspiration. It is kind of all over the place but, if you’re a fan of the show, I think you may like this.

Oh, the Time and Places You’ll Go

by Milo Alan

Geronimo!
Today is your day.
Amy Pond you must go!
You’re off and away!

You have gingery hair in your head.
You have nothing to lose.
The Doctor will take you in
any direction you choose.
You’re in the Tardis. And you know what you know.
And The Doctor is the guy who’ll decide where and when to go.

You’ll look up and down streets. Look ’em over with care.
Beware of Daleks and The Medusa Cascade, “I don’t choose to go there.”
With your head full of gingery hair and The Doctor in bow tie,
you’re probably in good hands and probably won’t die.

And you may run into danger
Exterminate or delete you may hear.
In that case, run Amy dear,
And hope the Tardis is near.

The crack in your wall is there
in the wide open air.

Out there things disappear,
and frequently do
to people you love
like Rory your boo.

And then things start to happen,
don’t worry Amy my dear.
Just go right along.
And again, hope the Tardis is near.

OH!
THE TIME AND  PLACES YOU’LL GO!

You’ll be in the future or past!
You’ll be seeing great sights!
You’ll  see all of it to the last!
And hopefully not lose your police woman tights.

You won’t lag behind even though The Doctor said to.
You’ll run all around and hope that he can save you.
Wherever or whenever you fly, you’ll venture far and wide.
Wherever or whenever you go, you will never regret the ride.

Except when you do.
Because, sometimes, even he does too.

I’m sorry to say so
but, sadly, it’s true
that Daleks
and Ju’Doon
can chase after to you.

You can get all locked up
in a Pandoricum oh my!
And your Rory will wait ages for you.
Unable to die.

You’ll come out of the box
with an unpleasant sight.
And the chances are, then,
that you’ll run away in fright.

And when the Dalek’s chase you,
you’re not in for much fun.
Escaping them
is not easily done.

You will come to a hotel where all of your fears can kill.
Some rooms contain yours and some do not. Either way, you’re in danger.
A place you could get lost or even taken in!
Do you dare to confront them? Do you dare to go in?
How much can you stand? How much can you win?

And IF you go in, can you concur your fright…
or be defeated by it? Or, maybe, not quite?
Or go around and hope that its blind?
Blind it’s not, I’m afraid you will find,
Unlike Vincent’s weird chicken monster of some kind.

You can get so confused
that you’ll think you’re the Flesh
but kidnapped and lost you will be, lost in space
and some weirdish being will kiss your husband and wear your face,
Until a good man goes to war and rescues you from that place.
The Silent Place…

…for people just silent.
Hoping silence won’t fall
when the question is asked to a man so tall
the most important question of all
hidden in plain sight, not under a shoe
Who is the Doctor? Doctor Who?
And who is River Song too?
Oh dear Sweetie, you’ll find out soon.

Waiting for the Silence to come
You’ll not remember them when they’re done
You’ll have to mark them down, one by one
You’ll forget they were even there
and then you will become aware
They’re behind you don’t look
They’re the reason your daughter got took.
They all are just silent.

NO!
I said don’t look!

Somehow you’ve again found the Doctor
This time in Utah
But you don’t know
He’s come to say tah-tah.

With Stetson on,
He walks to the lake,
Aware of his mistake.
Because there an astronaut will has his life to take!

Oh, the times and places you’ll go! There is fun to be done!
There are places to find. There are wars to be won.
And the magical things you can see from the door
regardless of peril you’ll always want more.
Doctor! You’ll say and there he will go,
To a world full of mystery for you to know

So!
to the future, past, or even Gallifrey
or Adipose 3 or starship UK,
You’re off the Great Places!
You’re off to any day!
Your Doctor is waiting.
So…get on your way!
