Do you like time travel? Do you like cool indie movies? Do you like quirky characters and original ideas? If you do, I have a film for you. What is this film called you ask? Safety Not Guaranteed.
Safety Not Guaranteed is the story of a magazine employee and her team of writers who investigate an ad put in the classified section of the newspaper. It all seems pretty tame until you read the ad, seen left. Pretty cool huh?
It looks like it is a solid, quirky film, judging by the previews. It stars Aubery Plaza of Parks and Rec fame as well as Mark Duplass as the time traveling grocery clerk. From what I have seen, Plaza plays her normal cynical and loveable self which seems to mesh well with the overall plot of the film.
Judging by the previews, this one stands to be a very good film that will surprise you and charm you until the end. After doing very well at Sundance, this film should be opening sooner rather than later. As it stands now though, the film will be opening with a limited release. My bet is that it will be very similar in terms of reception as the cult classic, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. For more on the film visit their website safetynotguaranteedmovie.com.
